This four-part seasonal series highlights herbs, food as medicine, and self-tending practices that promote vitality throughout the year. Together, we explore the unique gifts and challenges of each season, learning how to align our bodies with the regenerative rhythms of the natural world.
In each class, you’ll be introduced to plants that can become trusted allies in health and resilience, and you’ll engage in hands-on preparation of herbal remedies, nourishing seasonal recipes, culinary uses of healing herbs, and simple plant-based rituals for self-care. Class time weaves together lecture, demonstration, tastings, and experiential learning.
Summer Session: Cooling, Hydration & Radiance
This class centers the expansive, sun-filled energy of summer—a time of outward expression, warmth, and abundance. Together, we’ll explore how to stay cool, hydrated, and nourished during the peak of heat and activity, working with herbs that support the heart, uplift the spirit, and replenish fluids.
We’ll work with seasonal plants through recipes such as:
DIY Herbal Electrolytes
Strawberry & Holy Basil Oxymel
Mint Cacao Chia Pudding
Hawthorn & Hibiscus Nourishing Herbal Tea Blend
Cucumber Salad
Lemon Balm Pesto
Hibiscus & Mint Popsicles
Lemon Verbena Lemonade
Honey Chamomile Iced Latte
Participants will be able to take home ingredients for the tea blend. All other preparations will be made together in class in small groups, with opportunities to taste and experience each creation. We’ll share a variety of refreshing seasonal preparations together during class.
