The Berkeley Herbal Center Mission
The mission of Berkeley Herbal Center is to develop a legion of healers to rebuild a healthcare system that is earth-based, affordable, and empowering to our communities.
Who is the Berkeley Herbal Center?
The Berkeley Herbal Center was established in 1995 in Berkeley, California. Over the decades, we have grown into the leading educational and clinical center for sustainable systems of Western herbal-based healing.
The Berkeley Herbal Center encourages and renews a living knowledge of the healing powers of plants through the study and practice of Traditional Western Herbalism.
We are committed to educating healers into successful careers as practicing herbalists and herbal educators by offering the most comprehensive, integrated education in Western herbal medicine.
We are one of very few schools nationwide with a clinical internship program in Western Herbalism. Our first and second year clinicians are trained under supervision of staff in our community clinic.

What we do
We are dedicated to furthering the study and practice of herbalism so the Berkeley Herbal Center offers all manors of herbal education to our community.
We offer coursework for every beginner and intermediate Western herbal scholar – from single workshops and multi-day courses held within our California classrooms, to online classes for the distant herbalist.
If you find yourself interested in making a career out of clinical herbalism, we offer a Clinical Herbalist Training Program in two ways. Both ways offer you the opportunity to join our clinical internship program.
